My family consists of my wife (Elizabeth, psychologist), daughter (Grace, 5), son (Elijah, 3), and cats (brothers, orange). CodeRunner is the link between Backendless Cloud. Backendless provides command line utilities for you to start a debugging session or push your Java code to Backendless Cloud. These pre-built projects are the easiest way to start your Cloud Code development. Outside of work, I enjoy travel, food, and playing the piano. CodeRunner is automatically included in Java projects generated by Backendless Console.

with Honors in Computer Science in 2009, advised by Jeannie Albrecht. I spent my undergraduate years at Williams College, where I completed a B.A. in Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2014, where I was co-advised by Prashant Shenoy and David Irwin. Prior to joining Bowdoin, I completed my Ph.D. I teach across the undergraduate computer science curriculum at Bowdoin, with a particular emphasis on systems courses. The course schedule is tentative and subject to change.

Some recent and past projects have included analyzing smart meter data (e.g., for high-performance compression or virtual power meters), resource management in data centers (e.g., leveraging intermittent power), and cloud-based databases (e.g., employing on-demand live migration). My research interests are broadly in the areas of energy, smart buildings, sustainability, and distributed systems. I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Bowdoin College.
